For what it's worth....
It appears that Little Anthony and the Imperials will be inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame on April 4th. For those of you unfamiliar, this is the group that actually owns the name "Imperials," which caused quite a headache last year....

Actually this is not the Christian music group the Imperials who own the name Imperials (the group which includes Jason Morales, Ian Owens, Scott Allen, and Perry Jones). Rather this is an African American rock-n-roll group.
Before blogging...it may be worth your time doing your homework.
Actually, Anonymous, I believe Kyle was referring to the fact that Clarence Collins is the legally recognized owner of the registered service mark "The Imperials" as recognized by the US Patent & Trademark Office. His application was made in 1999 and granted in 2001. Mr. Collins is an original member of the doo-wop group known as the Imperials that was formed in 1958. They were commonly called "Little Anthony & The Imperials" due to the distinctive high-pitched falsetto voice of lead singer Anthony Gourdine. Mr. Collins has also filed an application for the service mark "Little Anthony & The Imperials".
The MOSH group, which is an acronym using the first letter of the last names of the previous version of the southern gospel group (Morales, Owens, Shannon Smith & Jeremy Hudson), filed an application in 2006 for the same service mark. The USPTO website shows the MOSH application was suspended in 2007 and a motion of withdrawal of attorney was granted on 11/21/08. It appears the MOSH application is dead.
In short, Kyle was pointing out that although Jason and Armond argued over who owned the right to use the name "The Imperials" last year, neither of them actually have the legal right to do so.

Anonymous, Scott is right. Perhaps before making comments on blogs you should do your homework. :-) Jake Hess received permission in the sixties to use the name Imperials, but it wasn't owned by him.
